Dorchester Living, the community housebuilder behind the creation of Heyford Park in Oxfordshire, has donated funding to Dementia Disco to support a full year of monthly community events across Oxfordshire. The funding will go towards a programme of inclusive sessions bringing together people living with dementia, alongside their families and carers, in a safe and welcoming environment.

Dementia Disco is a charity that provides inclusive events aimed at reducing isolation and improving wellbeing for people affected by dementia. Its events bring people together through music, food and social time in a relaxed and welcoming environment for people living with dementia, alongside their friends, families and carers. 

Across the country, dementia continues to affect large numbers of individuals and families. As of 31 January 2026, 510,165 patients had a recorded diagnosis of dementia in England, demonstrating the scale of the condition and the need for inclusive community initiatives such as those delivered by Dementia Disco.

The funding from Dorchester Living will help deliver Dementia Disco events in Oxfordshire over the next year. The first event will take place on Sunday 12th April from 6pm to 8pm at The Heyford Hotel, 544 Camp Road, Upper Heyford, OX25 5DQ. The free event will bring together people with dementia, as well as their families, friends and carers, for an evening of music, dancing and fun.

Dorchester Living’s funding reflects its wider commitment to creating inclusive communities at Heyford Park and across its developments. Through partnerships with local organisations, the company continues to support initiatives that enhance wellbeing, bring people together and create opportunities for meaningful social interaction, particularly for more vulnerable members of the community.

Heyford Park has already transformed the former RAF Upper Heyford airbase into a thriving community of more than 1,500 homes, complete with schools, shops, restaurants and sports facilities. The next phase of development aims to build on these foundations, supporting the creation of a sustainable town with homes, employment opportunities and community infrastructure.
